Frequently Asked Questions:

1. How do I improve my relationship with my worksite supervisor? I feel my supervisor does not like me, and I do not want to work at that site anymore.

If you feel that your supervisor does not like you, here are a few tips to improve your professional relationship with your supervisor:

Please do not leave your site without discussing all options with your FP campus representative. If you cannot stay at your worksite for any reason, all reasonable measures will be taken to find you a new placement.

2. I found employment, or my worksite offered me a permanent position, and I accepted. What are my next steps?

If you found employment, please contact your FP campus representative. Once you are employed, you will be required to complete a document named a Declaration of Employment (DOE). This document will ask for your employer information, job title, expected salary, or an hourly wage.

3. I am only scheduled to work 6hrs. Can I get additional hours?

Your FP campus representative or worksite supervisor is unable to adjust your hours.

Your FP work hours are determined by your total class hours, homework hours, Federal Work-Study, and internship hours per week and subtracting from the required 30-hour work requirement mandated by HRA. If the difference is six or more hours, HRA assigns you to participate in the FP.

4. I have been assigned 19hrs, but I cannot work these hours because of my school and personal schedules.

If you have any barriers preventing you from participating in the FP, please notify your FP campus representative. Your FP campus representative will ask you to present documentation that confirms you have a barrier. If your barrier claim is approved, you will be removed from the FP by HRA (without negative consequences), or modifications will be made to your schedule by your FP campus representative.

If you are working remotely, you may be able to discuss a flexible schedule with your worksite supervisor (i.e., working on weekends, in the evening, etc.)
